God Our Present Help

God is the only perfect, pure and permanent Cover and Sufficiency. Therefore, you must Know Him by coming to Him in total submission.

Definitions:
Refuge: State of being safe, sheltered from danger, pursuit, or difficulty. A refuge is a safe haven and a place of rest in time of storm.
A refuge provides hope for the hopeless and happiness to the hurting.
A refuge sometimes is a fortress, strongholds or high place. Isa. 28:17; Psl. 6:8; Jer. 17:17; Psl 14:6; Isa 4:6; Job 24:8
Help: “If you help someone, you make it easier for them to do something, for example by doing part of the work for them or by giving them advice or money.” -Collins Dictionary. God is in the driver seat of your life and every undertaking. His involvement brings possibility where strength, knowledge and efforts fail you.
Observations
When God becomes your Refuge and Help, you enjoy his:
1. Trustworthiness
2. Sufficiency
3. Power
Application
 God is the only perfect, pure and permanent Cover and Sufficiency. Therefore, you must
Know Him by coming to Him in total submission. Make him your refuge.
Trust Him with all your heart for every need and in all situations. He will never disappoint you
Serve Him diligently, faithfully and He will reward you in Jesus name

Unveiling the Mission of the King

 the Kingdom of God has come for those who would seek first that Kingdom of God and His righteousness. All other things necessary for life will be added to them.

“And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.” Matthew 2: 2-5

Introduction

The people of God under Samuel demanded for a king like other nations. “now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.”  They needed a king for the sake of justice, high moral standard and one who can stand among equals. What was wrong with their demand for a leader like other nations was not immediately clear. See what God who knows the mind of every man saw in their demand. In 1Samuel 8:7 the Bible says, “And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.”

In other words, they needed king for their selfish mundane interest. They rejected divine and eternal reign of peace, righteousness, justice and fairness. 

Background

At the time Jesus was born, the Jews were under Roman government. Herod Antipas, (born 21 BC—died AD 39), son of Herod I the Great was tetrarch of Galilee and ruled throughout Jesus of Nazareth’s ministry. In The Gospel According to Luke (13:32), Jesus later referred to him as “that fox.” That shows the recklessness in the rule of the king. Corruption was high and there was oppression. Oppressive leaders never want any dissenting voice to be head. Your head might be on demand. Typical example is John the Baptist who spoke against bad governance. He was imprisoned and later beheaded. 

The Mission of the King of kings was unveiled by the angel in Matthew 1:21, 2:4; (the Messiah); Also Prophet Isaiah, Isa. 11:1-5; He came to destroy the effects of sin as promised by God in Gen. 3:15; Joh 3:16 the “mediator” between holy, righteous God and unrighteous, sinful man 1 Tim 2:5. 

He comes that we may have abundant life. Before He ascended to heaven, He promised us not to leave us fatherless. He paved way for God’s permanent presence in us through the Holy Spirit. Through Him we have assurance of victory over Satan sin and the world. 1John 5: 4, 5; Isaiah 9: 6, 7

In the Gospel according to Luke 4: 18-19 He sums up His mission, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” 

Conclusion 

The kingdom of this world and it’s power have failed and cannot suffice for world peace and justice. But the Kingdom of God has come for those who would seek first that Kingdom of God and His righteousness. All other things necessary for life will be added to them.

Accept the lordship of Jesus Christ and you will enjoy the peace of God that passes all understanding. Shalom!

IT IS SETTLED

Those who truly put their trust in Christ are positioned for unstoppable breakthroughs and showers of blessing… Confess your conviction and by faith impossibility will turn to possibility in your life…

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.  1Corinthians 1: 19-20

Introduction
Those who truly put their trust in Christ are positioned for unstoppable breakthroughs and showers of blessing. Not one good thing shall fail them of all that has been promised. It is only God that can give a settled and established blessing. He honours His word concerning them that rely on Him.
God’s blessing is for all people but not all experience the blessing.   If God has promised showers of blessing for everyone, it is  settled.  The word of God says, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
How can the blessings of God come true in our life?
Learn to Obey His Word
The Bible talks about Abraham as channel of blessings to generations. We all claim Abraham blessings but not everyone is ready to pay the price Abraham paid. In Genesis 19: 18-19, the Lord says,  “18Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed. 19For I have chosen him, so that he will command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, in order that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has promised.” Martin Luther said we're not saved by faith and works, but we are saved by a faith that works. Christians that will enjoy the fulfillment of God‘s promises must learn to demonstrate what God commands and instructs. 1 Cor. 15: 5;1 Kings 2:3; Jos. 1:8; Jam 1:25
Learn to Trust In and Confess His Word
 Every Christian must form a habit of trusting in the unfailing word of God. He says I exalt my word above my name. Trusting God simply believes that He loves you and knowing He’s good, He has the power to help you, and He wants to help you. Such conviction can turn around any situation. The Bible says in, Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.“ Confess your conviction and by faith impossibility will turn to possibility in your life.
Conclusion
Our God speaks with finality. Whatever He says is settled in heaven and on earth no man or demon can alter it. “For ever, O LORD, your word is settled in heaven.” Psal. 119”89. Obey the word, trust and confess it until situation changes. Remain blessed in Jesus name
