Looking Unto Jesus

...ultimate blessing of looking unto Jesus is the hope of eternal glory. Apostle Paul says, “Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope...

 Reverend G. S. Adeyemo
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Hebrews 12:1-3

 Observe
1. Looking unto Jesus is key to conforming to God’s image: - The Bible reveals the original purpose of God for our creation in Romans 8:29 saying, “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters” The only means is looking unto Jesus our Discipler. Piper says, “As we are conformed to the image of Christ, he is made more and more the center of all things.”
2.  Looking unto Jesus is sufficient for life worries: When you become so much attached to your worries and burdens more than necessary, life becomes so uninteresting and burdensome. Your worries reinforce your adversaries. Looking unto Jesus will help you overcome.
3. Looking unto Jesus gives us hope for eternal glory: The ultimate blessing of looking unto Jesus is the hope of eternal glory. Apostle Paul says, “Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.”
The testimonies of those who trusted in Christ till death are so numerous and indisputable that we are encouraged to keep looking unto Jesus for salvation, healing, victory and abundant blessings. No matter what you are passing through, I am inviting you to looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. As you do so, things will turn around for better in your life in Jesus name.
