Divine Power for Service

God wants to use us to bless the world. He has made provision for power to serve and to prosper to the praise of His name.

Acts 1:8
Introduction
The Church mission is the extension of Jesus ministry on earth. The ministry of saving the perishing souls. Jesus began the mission in the power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:38.  Before He ascended to heaven, He commissioned all believers in Him to go making disciples of all nations. This is a task that needs divine enablement.
The Promise of Power
He commanded the apostles to tarry in Jerusalem for the power. He said, "But ye shall receive power, after that the  Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall  be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,  and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto  the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8. This is the promise of the Father from on high. Luke 24:49.
The Purpose of the Power
Divine power in the believer is for dual purposes namely, building or edifying the body -the Church of Christ and Leading the world back to God through evangelism. These can only be accomplished by the Holy Spirit. Without the power of the Holy Spirit our service will be fruitless and useless works in the flesh.
Preparation for the Power
Our life is God's vessel for service. Every vessel need to be prepared for service. The Bible says, "20 But in a great house there  are not only vessels of gold and of silver,  but also of wood and of earth; and some to  honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a  man therefore purge himself from these, he  shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified,  and meet for the master’s use, and  prepared unto every good work." God wants to use us to bless the world. He has made provision for power to serve and to prosper to the praise of His name. We must surrender our lives to Him for use in building the body of Christ and winning the world to God. As we allow Him we shall prosper in Jesus name.
